PARLAY 2014 Programme

All presenters are kindly reminded that they must be registered in order to present.

Please remember Early Bird Registration ends 31st July, 2014. The following link will take you to our registration platform.

We would also like to remind you that we are offering two means of registering for PARLAY at no cost. Please read carefully what the terms and conditions are for these bursaries and free registration.

White Rose DTC Free Registrations
First, thanks to the generous support by the White Rose DTC, we are happy to offer 20 bursaries to students affiliated to the University of Leeds and the University of Sheffield (10 per university). The bursaries will cover the full cost of the registration fee (excluding dinner*).

How to apply
  • If you are a student at the University of Leeds or the University of Sheffield register at
Please use your university email as evidence for your affiliation to the University.
* If you want to attend the conference dinner, you should still register for that at

IRIS Free Registration
Secondly, PARLAY supports IRIS, the repository of materials for collecting second language data (www.iris-database.org). IRIS is offering free registration for PARLAY delegates who contribute data collection materials (NOT data itself) to IRIS during the registration period for PARLAY or up to 6 months afterwards (i.e. no later than March 12th 2015). Materials MUST have been used to collect data for a peer-reviewed publication or an approved PhD thesis, for research into second languages (L2 research). If you are a PhD student qualifying for this IRIS rate, you are most likely in your final year and will therefore be in a position to submit materials before March 12th, 2015. Please read the full terms and conditions before registering with this modality:

Bursaries will be given on a first come first serve basis, so hurry up! Demand is high!

Many thanks again, we look forward to seeing you soon and if you have any questions please do get in touch.
